Good morning Craig, thanks for your interest in our product. The Stink =
Bug Machine flap was designed to allow the machine to achieve the needed =
"air tunnel" effect during operation but loose enough so that the Stink =
Bugs do not feel threatened and emit their smell. In the rare case one =
does emit their smell, the canister can be easily wiped with soapy water =
to clean. The machine has a HEPA filter in it and it is replaceable. But =
as referenced above, the bugs rarely if ever emit their smell. In the 7 =
years this product has been on the market, we have only had one request =
for a replacement filter and the machine I use is over 7 years (it is a =
prototype) and I've never had to change the filter. The downfall to the =
"loose" flap is that sometimes we have heard of Stink Bugs escaping. =
Although this is not usually an issue as the Stink Bugs typically huddle =
in the canister until they are dumped from the canister. From what we =
have heard, when this does happen, it is when the nights are cold and an =
unusual warm day occurs. When this does happen, it seems to be more in =
the spring. Stink Bugs want to huddle together when cold, but in the =
Spring, they are ready to move outdoors and move about more. The few =
customers that have seen this put a piece of tape or a tissue in the end =
of the extension. I am working on getting a cap made to fit over the end =
of the extension but I do not have a completion date at this time as I =
am having trouble finding a company to produce them. Once I do manage to =
get a cap made, I will be shipping one to customers but I can't even put =
a date as to when that will be so don't let that play into your decision =
to purchase. We used to offer a telescopic extension for the machine and =
our lead time on replenishing our stock was 24 months and the factory =
just extended that time.=20

The major differences in a "household" vacuum and our Stink Bug Machine =
is ease of emptying the bugs from our machine, the design of the flap so =
the bugs do not emit their odor and the price. A Dyson would set a =
purchaser back around 4 - 5 times the price of the Stink Bug Machine and =
from what I have seen, even the next closest designed vacuum would set a =
buyer back 2 or 3 times the cost. A Dyson or Shark will smell after =
collecting Stink Bugs making it unusable for household chores. Our =
machine is used for the Stink Bugs (or other bugs) only and in most =
cases, the machine is on for less than 5 seconds at a time.=20

There is such little information here, there is nothing suggesting this =
product is worth buying.  Is there something to keep the bugs from =
crawling out? Is there an odor filter?  The stink bugs we have emit with =
the slightest provocation.  How is this product different from just a =
dyson?
