I always appreciate it when a friend tells me there is a better way to
approach a problem. There is a better way to approach the problem of Andy
being an associate lay leader. The Cabinet has no authority over this. So
here's the new plan. That is an issue for the 2024 Annual Conference and we
can petition the conference to create the Co Lay Leader position which will
solve all our issues. In the meantime we need to approach the Connectional
Table to request equal funding for the Associate Lay Leader to attend the
same functions as the Lay Leader. For example there will be an annual
Association of Annual Conference Lay Leaders in February which will likely
be in person in Nashville. Another is paying for the Assoc. Lay Leader to
attend our Annual Conference (registration and housing). Both of these are
valuable learning experiences.

This makes more sense and I believe is the appropriate path to follow.

By the way, I have not heard from anyone about the possible gathering on
Sept. 15-16 at Lazy F. Did my last Email fall off the edge of the
cyberworld?
